Can anyone suggest a decent formation which will bring out the best in Van Der Vaart? I'm currently spurs and haven't really bought anyone but VDV. Anyhelp would be much appreciated!!! Please give links if available. Cheers

For me, the 4-2-1-3 McNugget tactic works wonders with VDV in the AMC position. He scores almost 1-on-1 and is leading the assist rankings halfway through my first season.

The only downside of this tactic is that side midfielders have to get retrained in order to use them effectively. However, most wingers perform nicely on the outer SC positions...

I'm using a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, VDV as AMC, in his first season he scored around 25 times, with about 21 assists, in his 46 games. Used as a playmaker he is lethal.

I've played 442 - diamond with him as ACM (set as ACM). He´s awesome!

I havent bought him for my Milan squad but went for Belluschi (who is cheaper & has EU passport). Had bought him in Fm 2007 for Milan as back up for Kaka but he was s**t and sold him after 5 months.
In 2008, i saw his performances for HSV(had the german league on in background) and he wasnt scoring/creating much for HSV with his avg ranking below 7. Is he actually that good in a top tier side like Milan?

as long as he is playing AMC and attacking he will be gd. i got him and tried to get kaka too. but scout report says kaka is just as gd as kaka so i stick with van der vaart. Anyway im playing 4-1-3-1-1 and his my AMC and top scorer

i am currently playin as liverpool and bought van der vaart!
the formation i am playin, which has been recommended highly is 4-2-3-1!

Van der Vaart has added loads of creativity to the team contributing loads of goals and assists!
he is set wiv lng shots and scores some awesome lng shots!
i also have Alonso has the playmaker wiv a barrow, dropping back, givin him loads of space to use his passing abiliy.
Torres has loads of creative freedom, and the two wide men wiv farrows run up to forward attacking positions and both chip in wiv goals and assists

i am only in my 1st season but it has work greatly for me so far..... here are some results

Liverpool 5 - 3 Benfica

Babel, Van der Vaart (3) and Gerrard
i knw i conceded 3, but still sortin out defence

Derby 0 - 3 Liverpool

Torres (2), and Van der Vaart
i knw its only derby but he scored

Bolton 1 - 4 Liverpool

Torres, Quaresma and Van Der Vaart (2)
Bolton are a tuff place to go to, so i was pleased wiv this result, and again Van der Vaart is scoring


so i think tht my formations is the best for Van der Vaart!
