i have been managing arsenal. when i started my game i noticed that all my coaches and scouts thought that alexandre song was an inconsistent performer.

i tried everything i could think of to change my coaches' perception of song (tutored him, first team football, player interaction etc), but he is still an inconsistent performer

is there any way to improve this?

It's more of a character of the player, so I think it's hard to improve.
The only stat I can think of and related to consistency is work rate. Not sure if that'll help though. How about getting a replacement instead

i do have better players like denilson and diaby, but what concerns me is that i have scouted some regens with decent stats who have the same 'lacks consistency' scout report.

i'm just worried that as i embark upon a long term game consistent players like fred and fabregas will no longer be there and i will be stuck with a bunch of 'inconsistent' regens!

Some of the hidden attributes improve over time, like "Important matches". Don't know about "consistency", though. You could check it out with FM Genie Scout beta, though. I don't like to use this tool to find out CA/PAs of players, but it can show you attribute differences between a player's current state and when he's reached his CA. Try it on a number of random players in obscure leagues. If there's a difference in the "consistency" attribute, then it does indeed change over time.

It should be a starting point to see whether it is possible to improve a player's consistency. It seems that it is a mystery whether consistency can ACTUALLY improve. It would be strange that it can't, but with the failure of my "Song Experiment" I am yet to be proven wrong.

it improves with time. not much but little.

Hmmm...

This worries me a bit. I'm in my 4th season with arsenal and I have not found a single regen that my scout recons is a consistent performer and a good buy.

I was really hoping that there are ways to improve from "inconsistant" to "consistant". Has anyone found that with any of their players?

Players "consistancy" goes up over the years - but it depend on how meny games he plays.
Same with "Important matches" .

I have found that young players are very often inconsistent in the game, but this usually goes away. If it doesn't, it gets harder and harder to get rid of as they grow older. In this case, keep giving them playing time and see what happens.
