Its becoming quickly apparent to me that player ratings have been toned down and wondering if an average performance is now a 6 rather than a 7.
I've always wondered about this however because as we know FM uses a 1-10 scale so you'd think to utilise this scale properly a player who 'dosen't play particularly well but dosen't play badly' would score a 5. Does this not make sense to anyone else??
Also match ratings should be relative to your opposition, for example if say Swindon play Man U in the cup and lose 3-0 there players could still of played really well for there normal standards, what do you think.

I agree with that. As in, the best sprinter from New Caledonia running 100m in 13.55 and having the run of his life, not to mention breaking a national record.
