This guy is just fantastic. Always ends up forcing himself onto the transfer list first summer, and for that sort of money, there isn't anyone better.
His pace and acceleration tend to range from 14-15, which is fast enough not to be troubled by most strikers. 19-20 jumping and heading make him immense in the air, especially when coupled with 19-20 strength and 17-18 positioning...
The real gem here though is his 20 man marking, coupled with 20 composure, very high decisions (17 this time) and anticipation (19)... Along with perfect tackling (20) this guy is practicly the perfect defender (I'd just like 3-4 more pace/acceleration), and the game's best marker.
Carew was running me ragged for 20 mintues. Stuck him on man marking, tight, and Mr. Carew retired from the game. Apparantly he stayed on the pitch, but it was hard to realise it watching the game. The next game i stuck him on Liverpool's lone striker, torres, from the start. Poor kid didn't even get to find out what type of ball we were using. :-(
Yeah, I paid 10 million for him in my Juventus game. He's the rock in my defence. Got barca, real madrid, arsenal and man united all having a look. I refuse to accept anything less then £40 million.

Couldn't agree more. I have him set to "Near post flick on" and my corners set to near post. He scored 7 for me last season, and is on four this season(n ot even half way through).

I suppose you are right. He's only a little bit of training (push a couple of points of pace/acceleration out of him) away from being the PERFECT defender.
I got him for my AC Milan side, cost £11.5m but I'd have paid treble that, he is absolutely superb. Currently my captain as well, poor old David Villa got his knickers in a twist over that!
