I am using Man City and these are the guys I have been able to buy and like (all values in pounds, currently Jan 2010):
Firstly the young guns that are simply world class (not youth players)
Mat Fernandez 10mil- not so much a youth player, this guy is sensational use him as AMC and just owns with heaps of key passes, goals and assists- has been my key playmaker/attacking threat since day one. Last season 27 games, 10goals, 11 assists.
Gyan Asamoah 13mil- again, not youth but still young, has been scoring roughtly 8goals per 10games,awesome target man. Last season 29games, 26 goals and 10 assists. Brilliant.
Sergio Aguero 29mil- Been using him mainly as RW, though occasionally as Striker or AMC. Awesome player.
Cristian Zapata 11mil- Very reliable CB with awesome defensive stats.
Arturo Vidal 6mil- Excellent def stats and great versatility, bought initially as backup but starting to break into first team.
Gareth Bale 9mil- Excellent LB with great stat growth. My first choice LB.
Ever Banega 2.7mil- Simply a must buy. Jumped into first team at start of game and stats growth is immense. Currently partnering Lucas in CM, excellent in every regard except aerial. Awesome technique, passing, creativity, good defensive skills.... perfect at CM where he can spray passes. Stats show 80-90% passing accuracy, currently at 91% at Jan 2010.
Lucas 26mil- Complete midfielder, quite expensive but guy can do everything, stats jumped a fair bit and pretty much my key midfielder, stats are world class. Excellent defensive skills, passing, creativity, technique. Passing at 89% this season, last season 83%.
Podolski 10mil- Currently my backup striker, this season 14(7) games 19goals 3 assists. 10goals in last 5 games!!!
Now for Youth players that I have been using as backup/rotation and gradually bled in to team. The attributes quoted are at 2010, not what they come with- these guys improve sh1tloads:
Gabriel Torje 300k- Excellent right winger hat chips in with goals, good technique and pace, now a wonderkid.
Sergio Mota 2.6mil- Excellent left winger, excellent technique, now a wonderkid. Huge stat growth, particularly in technique, very good at striking ball- cross19, pass17, long shots 17, finish 16, technique 18, first touch 17.
Alex 800k from Santos- Very versatile, 18 accel and pace, good technique, now a wonderkid.
Lulinha 2.8mil- Use him as AMC and RW (trained), 18accel and 20pace, good technique with immense stat growth, chips in with goals/assists, now a wonderkid.
Saivet 1.9mil- Only starting to ease into cup games, good goalscorer and starts starting to grow. One for the future.
Luca Santonocito 150k- Still in reserves but he is still only 18 and excellent stat growth. Huge interest from other clubs. Cultured fullback at 18!!!
Bruno Formigoni 240k- Excellent stat growth, currently loaned out but will be excellent in future. Cultured midfielder at 18!!!
Lee Cattermole 7mil (cos middlesborough got relegated)- currently backup CM, already has excellent stats growth. Midfield General at 21yrs!!!!
These guys I have sold:
Marko Marin bought 775k, sold 10mil- Had him in reserves for 1.5years, stats grew impressively but he wanted out and sold for 10mil. Looks set to become impressive player but not in same league as Lulinha/Alex/Torje/S.Mota or I would not have sold.
Pablo Piatti bought 600k, sold 5mil- I was very disappointed with Pablo's development in training.
Bruno Mezenga 2.3mil- Huge mistake to buy him, bought cos someone wrote he will become a wonderkid on this site, basically he is a piece of **** and Im still trying to get rid of him.... no one will even loan him.
Eduardo Ratinho bought 1.6m, sold 3.7m- very good stat growth, performed well as backup but sold cos I had better options
Rafael Sobis bought 18mil, sold 27.5mil- Had for 1.5yrs, excellent player though I sold him cos didnt have room for him as Striker, spent alot of last season at AMC to fit him in. 24games 14goals 9assists... very good player.
My goalkeepers-
Igor Akinfeev 24mil- Diego Cavalieri was option at 11mil, but decided to go all out for hopefully the best. Chose him over Ustari who was similar price, they were very similar though ustari seems stronger now.
Franc Guill Ochoa 3.3mil- Excellent gk at very cheap price! My first GK, recently made backup due to Akinfeevs arrival. Excellent stat growth. Goalkeeping stats poor at start but over last 2 seasons have improved substantially. Lots of interest in him so have option of selling at high profit if he gets restless/need money
Oier Olazabal 950k- Excellent stats, good growth, currently in reserves. Appears to be excellent future prospect.
Kasper Schmeichel- playing in reserves, only keeping as he is HG... will sell once my own youth players become HG
