Default Stupidity in Northern Ireland

Well, I'm playing FM2007 with the latest patch, and I've noticed some pretty dumb media comments in the Northern Irish league.

For example, during my tenure in NI's 2nd Division, I was approaching a match against Oxford United Stars, when the following comment was said in the news screen.

"Oxford United Stars are playing above expectations this season and find themselves in 12th place".

That sounds reasonable enough, until you realise that 12th is the lowest possible position in the division! Do they expext OUS to be so bad that they get thrown out or something?!

Has anybody else noticed other stupid things appearing in the news screens?

I've had it say that I was "performing above expectations in the league so far", whilst I was one place below the media anticipated position.

Every now and again I'm described as "being on a poor run of game without a win", with the missing blank being "one". Not exactly aquaplaning downwards...

Then there is the whole thing about the board being pleased the team has achieved promotion when it hasn't.

I've been told that I'm on a 5 game run of defeats and need to turn it round (4 of them were draws).

I've never had that, but I'm constantly being told that the board pleased with my performance are disappointed with the team's despite exceeding their expectations.

It usually happens if the team finishes in the playoff spots but doesn't win through.

I've had the same as rourke in my current save, my China one. Each season I've exceeded my expectations and the board say:

"The board are very pleased with your performance as manager.

The board are disappointed at the team's performance in the league."

I could be pleased with someone's work, but not pleased with the results that have come from that work. That said, I know the game doesn't see it that way.

Got that a couple of times including this season where the Board expected me to fight bravely against relegation in League 2. Finished 8th, Board was pleased with my performance but disappointed with the teams finish. Maybe if I'd finished one spot outside the relegation zone they would have been happy!
