Default FM2008 Skin debate

After trying out the demo & reading a number a threads with a negative reaction to the new skin particularly the colour/contrast I was wondering what the thoughts are in here?

For those of you that aren't one step ahead I'm referring to the fact that SI's initial & only apparent response to the problem is to recommend using third party created skins.

You love it or you hate it, I don't like it much but it takes nothing from the gameplay.

SI have made no recommendations, but I'd say as so many people enjoy making skins and do it so well, waiting for a choice of them is a fair option.

I Personally like the new skin. I think it makes everything more crisp and clean, and easier to understand. However I can see why others don't, and the only thing I can recommend is a visit to the graphic and skinners lair.

That's the thing, editing the skin myself is out of the question & could a third party skin ever be regarding as safe from causing any long term corruption of a save? </BLOCKQUOTE>

I don't think skins require use of the editor, and downloading them doesn't affect the database. I know certainly that Nobby uses one (of his girlfriend I believe ) sso I'm pretty sure that its allowed

Skins have got nothing to do with saves or other game data.

I think the skin has taken a backward step compared to FM 07, but maybe once you get used to it, you will be alright.

As far as I'm aware, using a third party Skin makes save corruption no more likely than using the standard SI skin as the data itself is not being amended, only the way it is displayed. Which makes it far safer and far less cheaty than using the spawn!
For the matter of the new skin, I personally am undecided at the moment, although I'm sure I'll like it once I'm used to it.

I like it a lot. A few things that bother me though. Like the colour of the confidence-bar-things and the pastel colour for some icons. Oh, and also the new representation of the players on the pitch. Awful, awful, awful.

But then again, it should be easy enough to fix. And I've started on new icons as well.
