A skin is just a "form" as in Excel or Access, a front end to view the database entries in a pleasing manner.
Add hyperlinks to take you other places and that's it basically.
As said, no effect on game funtionality whatsoever.

I personally like the new skin, like i have for last two years.
I see no need to get a new one.

But that said, if people don't like it they will be able to do something about it so i think they should stop complaining.

Skin's not as bad as it looked in the screenshots but you can hardly distinguinsh the white badges (minor I know).

My very first reaction about FM08 would be about the skin.

The brightness is hurting my eyes. I hope a decent skin is made asap

I've only had a quick play around with the demo so far, but going from the Aero skin on 07 - dark background and very colourful - to the 08 skin - bright white and monochrome/pastel (to a large degree) has taken some getting used to.

I, personally, don't like it. The central menu chunk, in particular, looks oddly like a scanned version of the controls to an MP3 player or a TV remote (some useful touches, to be fair, but the look... no). But mostly, it's all that white that gets me.

Skins are fine Barside. They don't affect gameplay in any way.
I quite like the new one, now I've got used to the change of colours of the attributes.
