Way to go Jimbokav

Just got back from Cambodian New Year break out in the countryside - no internet there.

Hats off to you for penetrating Europe - setting a Norn Oirn record and putting in a good performance in the group stage.

So you do get the nonsense of all those cups then? Wait until you get a league title and big cup or two - you'll be bombing up the Hall of Fame

Anyway, you're having way more fun than I ever did - KUTGW and see you when you get to Phnom Penh

2013/14. Season 7.

Premiership. Runners Up. (Linfield). P30 W21 D5 L4 GF70 GA20 GD+50 PTS68. (9 pts higher than last season and our best points total by 3 points).
UEFA Cup. Lost in 1st Round to Athletico Bilbao. (Until just now I thought it was Athletico Madrid who we had played, but the stadium in in Bilbao, so that's who we played).
League Cup. Came 3rd in group stage and didn't progress. (Ballymena Utd).
Antrim Cup. Champions . (bt Linfield in final).
N.Irish Cup. Runners Up. (Linfield).
All Ireland Cup. Runners Up. (Shelbourne).

Reserve League. (Ass Man). Champions . (Now undefeated in 90 league games)
Antrim Trophy. Lost in 3rd Round. (Distillery II).
Intermediate Cup. Lost in 2nd Round. (Ards).
U18's League. (Ass Man). Champions .
U18's Cup. Lost in 1st Round . (Donegal Celtic).

My player of the year. Fairly loyal all round striker. As well as collecting the fans player of the year award, he collected the N.Irish Premiership player of the year award and the N.Irish player of the year award to boot. He was rewarded with a call up to the senior N.Ireland squad for the World Cup in Soain. Although he hasn't made his debut yet, he is the only player currently playing his football in N.Ireland in the squad.
Supporters player of the year. Fairly loyal all round striker, who has now scored 90 goals in the last 4 season.

UEFA Cup 1st Round.
Leg 1. (A). Lisburn Rangers 1 Athletico Bilbao 3.
Attendance figures unknown.
Leg 2. (H) Lisburn Rangers 0 Athletico Bilbao 1.
Attendance figures unknown.
Season summary.

Well after reaching the group stages of the UEFA Cup last season, (and having £3M in the bank), the plan was for the club to turn professional and allow me to scout abroad and therefore fill my team with cheap as chips Eastern Europeans. We didn't, so my scouts didn't, so I didn't. The league was a step forward, (we were in with a shout with a couple of games to go), but until we start beating Linfield on a regular basis, we don't really have a scooby. They beat us convincingly in the end, despite having to play much of the season without their star striker who suffered a broken leg. I brought in 8 players for £135,000 and got rid of 16 for £165,000. I am resigned to the fact that we probably won't turn pro until we win the league a few times. Next season should be even closer than this seasons 3 point margin.

Other points of note.

When my Fred's were promoted at the beginning of this coming season, the carp Ass man told me that not a single one stood out. I have never seen that before.

The board have announced that construction has begun on the upgrade of the clubs training and youth facilities. This should be completed rounghly in late August, (believe it when I see it).

Lisburn Rangers moved up 5 places to 323rd in the new European Club rankings.

N.Ireland clubs are ranked 40th of the 53 member Nations.

N.Ireland qualified from Group C, (consisting of Germany, Algeria & Iran), of the World Cup being held in Spain, before losing 1-0 to Holland in the 2nd Round.

World Club Championships .
Only entered by the Champions League winner.
Dwv1968 mentioned "but if you qualified for the European Cup and then went into the UEFA Cup", so it's impossible to enter the World Club Champs after you enter the UEFA Cup after being knocked out the CL </BLOCKQUOTE>

There's always one who has to spoil everything . </BLOCKQUOTE>

Of course it is possible. The World Club Championships is entered by the CL winner of the previous season. So it would be possible to play in the World Club Championships in the same year as the example given of a CL/UEFA cup combo. (A Euro Vase / UEFA would be another combo giving the same total)

2014/15. Season 8.

Premiership. Champions , (for the first time). P30 W23 D6 L1 GF68 GA14 GD+54 PTS75. (7 pts higher than last season).
UEFA Cup. Was given a right spanking in 2nd Qualifying Round by Celta Vigo of Spain .
League Cup. Champions . (bt Portadown in final).
Antrim Cup. Lost in semi's on penalties, (to Linfield) .
N.Irish Cup. Runners Up. (to Linfield)
All Ireland Cup. Champions . (bt Glentoran in final).

Reserve League. (Ass Man). Champions . (Went 97 games undefeated before losing at home to some carp team).
Antrim Trophy. Champions .
Intermediate Cup. Champions .
U18's League. (Ass Man). 13th of 16. (I think the main reason for a drop from 1st to 13th is I promoted players into Reserve squad as soon as they were 17).
U18's Cup. Lost in 2nd Round. (Cliftonville). (I can see me winning a European trophy before I win this).

My Player of the year. Call me a sentimental old fool but it must go to my Big fat lardy centre-half who scored his 100th goal for the club.
Supporters Player of the year. Fairly loyal all round striker who is now the clubs record league goal-scorer (59). He's actually scored 110 senior goals, but many have been suck ass goals and not so many, European goals.

UEFA Cup overview.

UEFA Cup 1st Qualifying Round.

Leg 1. (A). Lisburn Rangers 4 Zimbru (Moldova) 3.
Republican, Chisinau. Attendance 6532.
Leg 2. (H). Lisburn Rangers 5 Zimbru (Moldova) 0.
Attendance 969.

UEFA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round.

Leg 1. (H). Lisburn Rangers 3 Celta Vigo (Spain) 1.
Attendance 971.
Leg 2. (A). Lisburn Rangers 1 Celta Vigo (Spain) 6 :o.
Balaidos, Vigo. Attendance 12068.
Season summary. Well, we won the Premiership for the first time ,(so we will be competing in the Champions League next season), but I was really upset with the way we completely capitulated against Celta Vigo in the away leg. Four suck ass trophies sounds great, but I lost the big one, and lost another semi, (both to our biggest rivals Linfield). What riles me most, is my inability to make any progress in the U18's Cup. We've got about £3.5M in the bank, but until I am able to scout abroad, I have little to spend it on. I would hope that we might turn pro in the close season, but that's what I thought 3 years ago. We scored goals for fun and no less than 8 players hit double figure goals for the season.

Other points of note.

The board have announced that construction has begun on the upgrade of the clubs training and youth facilities. This is the 2nd year in succession that this has happened.

Lisburn Rangers dropped 2 places to 325th in the new European Club rankings.

N.Ireland clubs are ranked 37th of 53 member Nations, (up 3 places).

The N.Ireland National team are struggling a little in a Euro-Championship qualifying group consisting of Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Faroe Islands, (in that order).

Britsh clubs are constantly sniffing round my better players, but nobody is willing to throw cash at me as they seem to be the third/fourth tier of clubs, (Wolves, Norwich, Derby, Aberdeen). I'd sell my mum if a bi-boy threw some cash at be but.........

Don't know what all the fuss was about. Seems quite normal really. Big fat bloke scores loads of goals and we get knocked out in the Cup by a non league team. Oh yeah, on the subject of cups..... Do they really need 4 cups?
Haha, As manager of the mighty Glebe Rangers in the same div, I wondered the same. As I was knocked out of all 4 in the 1st round (twice by the Civil Service!) I had to arrange friendlies between my remaining league matches!
