As you'll all be aware the reserve and youth teams of a user always seem to do ridiculously well.

Nearing the end of my first season my reserves (only 6 men in the squad) and my U20's have been on the end of some hammerings and are both nearly bottom of their leagues.

It seems for the first FM ever it's going to be prudent to actually pay them some attention.

It's never been mentioned that anything has changed but I've never seen this before.

That's interesting  I don't even bother to check out the reserves, as they are storming their group for the first time in a row - and boy, are they useless!

reserves and youths usually end near the bottom in my saves, so I guess it won't be such a development for me

Another 'development' in FM08:

I downloaded the demo and started two games, one with Bischop's Stortford, the other with East Fife.
Neither of these clubs have scouts at the start. I hope it's coincidence, or just the demo.

Did anyone who has played the full game (Kriss?) notice a lack of scouts?

I haven't checked if it's easier to find scouts via the job centre, but if it's anyting like 07 it will be 2010 before I find scouts.

After a bit of research: Only 14 of the 44 conference regional teams have a scout.

Yep, I think it's due to a restricted DB, I'm waiting for a definitive answer.
