Hi guys, I am with Basingstoke and before the season has started I am in the red, I have given free transfers to basically all my youngsters apart from 2, offloaded 2 players for FREE because nobody would take 1k for them, made 4 of them resign new contracts cheaper.
Yet still, 17k in wages per month, 3k other and I'm in the red even before the season has begun...what in the world can I possibly to?
Cheers, I dont think this is against the LLM rules, but I need help asap.
As with most clubs of this size you'll find there is not a lot you can do.
Most of your players won't go for money just like in real life. A lot of clubs struggle on juggling finances in the hope of selling a star player or having a good cup run or cup associated bonuses.
Try and keep costs down to a mimimum but remember you have to speculate to accumilate. The board will tell you if they are unhappy with the finances and might even put their hand in their pockets if it worsens.
Welcome to the world of LLM , I'm fairly sure everyone in here has had to deal with a crappy financial status. I had 2 years of struggle paying of a £200K pcm loan plus all other normal outgoings when the club only had an average monthly income of £250k.
As for the contracts; getting rid of your youngster is a strange decision as the FA normally provide a grant for youth development & asking players to resign on lower wages is in principle ok so long as you're not asking someone to go from say £150pw to £50pw (It just wouldn't happen IRL).
Other than that there is no more advise to give as we're starting to get into the realms of tipping.
ah thanks, I just wanted to know if you all had the same problems, because I just dont want to be in a situation come the end of the season we get promoted and then lose like 20 points for having a bad financial status..
I always like to balance the finances where possible, but some clubs just seem to have way bigger outgoings than others.
The only thing you can really do to make things better is to get your team promoted and encourage bigger crowds, have a successful club run or hope for a sugar daddy to take over your team. Much like real life, I think!
