This year was an interesting one, what with trying to develop my youngsters and still keep on top of the first team as well. The young keeper forced his way into the first team pretty early on and managed 18 clean sheets in 34 games, which I was pretty pleased with. The young striker thou got... a hip injury
After He recovered his stats improved though, and he was pretty good in the u18s and reserves. Looking forward to seeing if he turns into a world beater or a massive disappointment.
On the pitch, we were pretty good. I had signed a new striker in the summer and this meant that I had four decent strikers available, two of which broke the 20 goal barrier.
From day one we were top, on two separate occasions we opened up 10 point gaps over our rivals. As ever though, the God of aquaplaing showed up and cut my lead to three points on the final day. All we needed was a draw away at Boro to win the title.
We lost one nil.
The live table told me that we'd lost the title on the last day, by one ****ing goal. I didn't cry, but I was rather red eyed.
Still, never mind. We got promotion, and because of the shock relegations from the EPL, we would be playing Liverpool next season :cool:
