So you think Leeds have it bad?

I had planned to start my first 08 save with Nueva Chicago in the Argentinian second division.
On setting up I discover that they start the season with a mind boggling -20 points.
Rivals Alte Brown have it slightly better with -18 points.
I don't know what went on down there last season but it will make this season one hell of a challenge, because, of course I'm going to take the job.

Board expectations are Premier Division in five years. Oh really?!!

Survive the first, then two promotions in four years. Easy for a man of your calibre Kriss.

There is one team with only 3 points deducted and a further seventeen whose crimes must have gone undetetected

Just to whet the appetite our first match was against none other than Alte Brown, and we are no longer bottom

Ahh the purity of the South American game... just twenty two men (at the start before the inevitable red cards), a ball and several large brown paper bags they swap between directors the night before.
I love it!

Link is an insight into the troubles in Argentina, a Tigre fan was killed in a riot after Nuevo Chicago looked relegated. Their ground has been closed indefinitly and 20 points deducted.Several clubs have had major trouble with hooligans over previous seasons with games been closed to fans or postponed.

I think you might be screwed Kriss. IIRC promotion etc in Argentina is not just based on that season's performance but an average of the last few...

I don't think it's as mental as that - the teams that finish top in the opening and closing stages certainly go through to one of the playoffs. What happens beyond that - there's about 6 in all, and it seems that some allow you a second crack at it if you lose one - is baffling beyond belief, but it seems largely to be a "finish in the top few and there's a chance".

IIRC it's the average of the last 3 seasons that decide upon relegation

So are you banned from your home ground too Kriss? Love to see those attendance figures and match-day income. Yup, screwed; I might try them next - it'll be months before FM08 washes up my way.

With the stadium closure at least you won't have to put up with the fans abuse from the terraces for a few months.
