Okay, new to everything, and I know never to post any names of players so as not to ruin any of my fellow LLM games.

My points I need answering are:

1. What skills should I look for in goalkeepers, defenders ect.?

2. Should I worry more about the training facilities or the youth facilities?

3. Is it a good idea to get a parent club to help with some good youth or should I forget it?

4. Any other hints (apart from who to buy) would be appreciated.

1) If I asked that it would be borderline tipping. Only borderline because my own FM skills are quite lagging. Just think logical

2) I'd worry more about the financial state of the club

3) Play the game you want it as realistic as possible

4) Read the other threads here, sniff some update thread, and use as large as a database as possible

The only thing I can tell you is that you need patience and perseverance. Good things come to those who have the nerve to struggle with our ways.

Alternately:

1) Read the header and the Forums stickies. They contain a lot of wisdom.
2) Understand what's in the stickified Forum threads and in the header. Your question might have been already answered. Alternately use the search function.
3) Ask yourself: Is my question adequate to the forum etiquette?

Welcome to LLM.

As has already been said the stickies, headers & previous threads should provide all the answers to the question you have (along with a few you've not thought of).

As for your specific questions, get the best players your scouts can find, let the board worry about the club finances & facilities (that's what their paid for) & finally if you're playing in the UK parent clubs are out of the question as the UKFA's don't allow them IRL.

Other than that enjoy your game & don't let any bad times put you off.

as you've heard so far...
no need to ask for hints, the frustrations are all part of enjoying the game...
that 9-1 defeat is what makes you throw your computer to the wall, only to come back an hour later and see if you can fix things before you get sacked....
