This is the first time i'm posting on this forums so i'm not entirely sure if i'm breaking the rules but since i had a LLM question i figured i'll just pop it here.
Ok, here's the thing. i've recently found the great joy of LLM-ing. a lot more fun than your regular "spend-millions-buy-the-best-and-dominate-the-world" type of games. so i dived into the english conference south. not very original i know but it was my first time.
as you can imagine, it was a completely different universe from the top tier leagues. any double digit stat was a bonus. very refreshing but very challenging.
so in my first season as manager of harvant & waterlooville, with alot of luck, i managed to bring my team into the playoffs. unfortunately, it was not to be for harvant and we lost in the playoff finals to sutton united with an embarassing 4-0.
throughout the course of the season i noticed the top scorers were either : *a certain type of player*
and finally here's my question : in a technically starved league like the english conference south, are physical stats more important than technical stats?
*tactical stuff deleted*
would like the know the opinions of much greater and more experienced LLM managers!
Lets see, tactical discussion, tipping and player naming. Other than that, not a bad post
Lets just say that a player doesn't need to be world class to do well in the lower leagues, but any mostly average player with a high ranking in a significant stat or two is likely to have an advantage over the opposition.
a.) Please read the forum header. The naming of players is not tolerated for certain reasons which are stated there.
b.) I found reading your post a bit tiresome and tough because you did not use proper capitalization of words, e.g. at the beginning of a sentence. Certainly, it might save you some time, but it's a bit respectless to others. So please try to write in proper English the next time. Thank you in advance!
c.) Without tipping (which is frowned upon in this place, the people in the GQ forum might be more inclined to help you), it's no surprise that the lower leagues are a bit more physical then upper ones. Only seldom is a player able to do something useful with the ball.
But even if you have for example a guy who is great at passing, what does it help if there is no one that can make proper use of a good pass?
Anyway, I believe there is no answer to your question. In some teams, an old donkey with low acceleration and speed but good finishing skills might still excel because he has little to do otherwise (because the other 9 players do the running for him). In a different team he might be completely lost because everybody has to be in constant movement.
Use your common (football) sense, and just try it.
Just that people in the Tactical forum tend to be more focused on finding that "uber-i-can-beat-everybody-10-nil" tactic so i thought i'll have better luck here.
A cardinal sin in this forum is to use expressions which would cause a certain orange <STRIKE>biscuit</STRIKE> er cake, to melt it's chocolate covering.
