| Valid. But no offline save and no playing day in day out as with some of the previous incarnations

Ok I want this clarafied:
Using the search screen to find loan/listed targets is ok provided you scout them before signing them? If so then I might start doing that.

Something I've been curious about. Do people only sign players their scouts say are good or, do people sign players who they think will fit into their team regardless of whether their scout thinks he's crap or not?
i.e you want a pacy striker. Scout finds one but says he's mince. You think otherwise.
I sign them. The way I look at it, the scouts just there to raise awareness. Just curious how much faith other people put in their scouts.

avstwentyone: I always use my scouts to scout for players, no matter what. Have a read of the guidelines thread, your question should be answered there.
Normthebarman: If my scout thinks they are bad and I think otherwise I will always sign them.

Craig, I have always just used my scouts and have read the guidelines before (I'd hope I've been around here long enough to be considered a regular by now ).
Still I had a re-read and I guess it's the line referring to "less scrupulous" LLaMa's using the search screen is what you are saying.
I guess I was just a little surprised to read that some LLaMas here do make use of it. Always thought everyone here just used scouts to alert them to potential signings.
Cheers.

The transfer and loan lists exist in real life and are replicated in the game. The game goes too far by allowing you to filter by stats, but given that managers can get a list of left backs who want to leave their current clubs, and the game allows you to do the same, why wouldn't you use it?
But I use it just as that, a list of names for scouting. Having said that, most of the time my scouts are out and about on expeditions. I only go to the lists when I need to find someone quickly and my shortlist isn't cutting it.

Here's another question I've been thinking about.
My shortlist consists entirely of people I've scouted. Good ones stay, carp ones go. However, some of the scout reports have now disappeared. Some of this is because the reports were from scouts at a previous club. Some of this is (I'm assuming) because they were scouted a couple of seasons back.
Now, my thinking is, they've been scouted, I've had reports back before, do I still need to scout them again since the reports disappeared?

I'd say no need to re-scout, you put them on your shortlist for a good reason & IRL you wouldn't have thrown away a scouts reports when he leaves the club ot retires which I think is what's happening in the game.
