Default Anyone else deliberately abstaining to enhance the experience?

I have FM2008 installed since Thursday, I have un-ashamedly been lobbing graphical enhancements in the respective folders since then, but I just can't bring myself to dive in. I think this is in part due to an on-going long term FM07 game I'm enjoying, but mostly because of the tales of woe and misery that is the bugs forum. I await the first "patch" cunningly disguised as an "enhancement pack" with mounting fervour, desperate to consult Frank and see what hideously colour-schemed non-entity he's gonna dispatch me off to, but I can't work up the enthusiasm to hit the start new game button yet. Am I all alone? Will I go slowly insane? Should I let my cat walk on the keyboard in a radical new approach to team selection? or am I all worried about nothing and just being a big Jessie?

Much the same here. One issue with scouting, but it doesn't render the game unplayable. Haven't seen any of the much-discussed match engine issues at all as yet. I say dive on in!

Unless it's bugs that are the reason my team's playing like utter pish and I'm being threatened with the sack after just 8 games, of course. Yes. Yes... it's bugs...

Some encouraging news here, thanks.

I suppose I'm just concerned that I might taint FM2008 and dramatically raise my blood pressure to boot if some of the alleged shortcomings turn out to be true. Oh well, might dip my toe in some obscure far-flung waters later.

I'm not finding much wrong with it either. Couple of minor issues, like the Milan clubs playing home games simultaneously, but that's not affecting me at the end of the day.

I've cranked up a new game and am going for it. Might well restart once the patch turns up, but figure it's all good practice.

I guess it all depends how much of a fix the patch is.

I'm waiting for the patch before starting a longterm game. Not too bothered about graphical addons.

And I'm finding it hard to let go of my 07 game!
