No, it's not that.

Good news though TADW. Germany was going to be one of the leagues I selected in my first 08 game.

I don't go where I'm not welcome, "Amazing" knows he's not welcome here and the reasons for that are still valid imo. he isn't and never will be LLM.

It's not that long standing LLaMas are vindictive, they just know that erosion starts with a single drop of water and rapidly becomes irreversible.

Leopards don't change their spots and LLMers never forget.

Oh for crying out loud, history is being re-written here and some people ought to be ashamed. I can't believe I have to justify myself on an interweb message board.

let's set the record straight before the imagination runs even wilder: I was being accused of using a downloaded tactic in a llama online game when in fact I wasn't. I forgot who, but someone took a screenshot of the tactic in question during the game, which apparently looked very similar to a popular tactic whose name I can't remember (how real llamas even know how a downloaded tactic looks like is another question). I argued my case that it in fact was a coincidence and was actually told by more than one person that it in fact didn't even look 100% like the questionable tactic. I offered to let people take a close look at my tactic to see how innocuous it really was but few took me up on it.

It's hardly surprising that a lot of people come up with similar looking tactics after playing a lot of CM. Some formations tend to work better than others, big surprise there.

What really bothers me though is that this had been discussed 2 years ago or so and only one or two people didn't believe me, and things went back to normal. How we got from there to the present day opinion on the incident is beyond me and I don't even want to know who is responsible for this. When I just searched for previous posts I noticed there isn't much info about the actual incident to be found, but it's quite telling to find this one, a year later, by church of all people:

If I recall correctly it was some idiot who posted in here and maintained he had a right to post in here as he played by the LLM rules. Turned out he used editors and third party updates. Twunt!
And you call that having a good memory...

That's just not true. Things went back to normal and the reason I eventually stopped coming here (months later mind you) had nothing to do with not being "welcome" anymore. How do get these things twisted around like this?

Ollie's response in this thread was particularly childish. If he doesn't want to see your posts he should put you on his ignore list. He make's himself look stupid when he's far from that.

Not as stupid as someone who puts an apostrophe in makes, mind you.

From reading the post in here & in the Hut I'm starting to get a picture of what happened with TADW along with how my comment about him not being a LLaMa appears to be the result of some strange Frank enduced vision. However I'm struggling to find the thread that caused this split with a person that from his history appeared to be a regular contributor to this forum.

As I would actually like to form my own opinion & I guess out of sheer curiosity (it'll bug me otherwise) any chance of a point in the right direction?

Go back to the hut.

But honestly, Dale's post says it all. He was part of our clan game, there were suspicions of him using Diablo, the famed CM4 supertactic. He was confronted and booted from the clan.

It was a long time ago, but one thing LLaMas abhor is cheating in any way, and LLaMas don't forget, as someone said.

I'm not about to get back into the argument of whether he did or didn't cheat. It's over, it's done and a long time ago.

I can understand some LLaMas, as a result, being suspicious of Dale, because they believe he cheated. There may have been other things that set him outside the scope of "true zealots" and there is maybe a case that he doesn't belong in LLM (you either is or you ain't). But I do agree with Michal here, there's nothing wrong with this post and people were overly eager to hit back at him.

I'm not saying he should be welcomed with open arms as a zealot or even forgiven for his cheating, but there are a few things to keep in mind: How many of the regulars were always true zealots or were more converts? I know several who were flamed and beaten back for their first few posts, but managed to blend in nicely with the community.

He's not here on a wind-up and made a post that is relevant to LLM or at least one that might interest LLaMas. I thought LLaMas took pride in being a more mature bunch.
