I agree Church, I too look to work my way up club by club. See how high I get, I have never thought (this is too easy), you go through bad times just like you go through good times.
Sometimes people have got to admit that if they find it too easy, maybe it's because there tactics etc... are working.
Take Aldershot in real life, they are 7 points clear in the BSP, do you think there manager is saying, this is too easy.
If people find it difficult, instead of blaming SI, they should look to change things.
My local football team that I support were on a bad run of a few defeats on the trot, the manager decided to change tactics, change some players, move others into different positions, and it's worked, we have won the last 2 games and look a better stronger team.
But everyone can play whichever way they like.
Rant over aswell....

Why will I never use updates and editors? Because I am noone (and neither is someone making a random update) to judge SI's work. We immerse ourselves in the world they have created. Thus, we must accept that the game as is provided (with patches though) is reality and we don't have superpowers to alter reality. Thus, the world remains as the creators made it.
| I agree but to help make the game more realistic, you could post in the data issues forum. It really p***** me off when there's something wrong with my team so I try to get it changed. Not with the spawn of course, just by checking the squad/club info and posting what's wrong. If it get's changed  SI, if it doesn't, life goes on.

Not starting a rant here: it's your game: you play it as you want! I could care less.
It's you however who proclaimed with great relish (mmmm, relish; I know)
"I AM a Llama".
I just asked: 'why?'
Because you quit your game because you like playing 'the lower leagues' more than 'the higher leagues'? Because you're bragging the game is too easy?
Don't think so...
It can be LLM to end up in the premiership winning the triple and then not boasting the game's too easy; if you play the LLM-way that's all possible.
Again: not a rant...
Just my thoughts. For what's it worth.

He wasn't bragging, he was simply saying to him the most enjoyable part of a LLM career is starting off at the bottom, signing those players on a really tight budget, where the passion is always there. No-ones on big money and you have a tiny stadium and are begging the fans to come in as you fall into greater debt, it's this part of LLM life that really attracts most people to it I reckon - it's real DIE-HARD football, not the over-paid often cheating premier league. It's not heartless, it's just quality, fighting for everything, struggling ... but LOVING it all the while. I don't feel he was bragging, simply stating it's best to work your way up from a really weak team.

LLM is not about trying to go for the hardest challenge. It isn't about constantly starting new saves. It's about a career of being good/half-decent/crap and seeing it through.
It's not DIE-HARD football, it's playing the game as realistically as the game allows. I suspect there's something amiss with the save if he's walking the league.

Wow, I must be really dense. I just took it as 'Started w/ Redditch, moved onto Forest Green then was picked up by a L2 team and did really good so I'm going to start over again w/ another LL Team.
I personally don't see it as bragging or anything else of the sort but thats just how I read it.
To me being an LLM is exactly how LFCfan put it, just play as realistic as you can.

At the end of the day I admire the love for managing in the non-leagues. Personally I would prefer to get the club as far as possible and would not leave unless they made me, but as has been said many times before:
It's your game, you paid for it, you're playing it. Do what the hell you want with it!

In my first season with Redditch, I found it unrealistically easy as I ruled the BSN and ended the season with only one defeat and 100 points - not only confounding my critics who said I'd end the season in 23rd but actually becoming league champions! I thought it was going to be a breeze and so I sauntered into the next season expecting this magical team to cruise to safety in BSP at the very least - I expected another playoff surge remembering how it happened in FM06 and FM07 with my LL teams. But not so...
The challenge I wasn't expecting materialised and I went 11 games into the season without a win to my name. Glued to the bottom of the table with only two points: this was the challenge I long for. A couple of loan signings, a tactical rearrangement and even dropping the stars who led me to first season success saw us pick up our first win of the season and now, after 28 games, we're four points out of the relegation zone and still battling hard - scoring 2/3 goals most games and trying not to concede 5/6 like we were at the start of the season. Fingers crossed - relegation battles are, for me, the most exciting part of FM as you realise your job is almost certainly on the line.

We're not here to give people relegation challenges. We're here to discuss playing the game in the most realistic way possible.
