Jon it's true. A member of Gameplay's staff mentioned it on the Gameplay forums (on the old Xbox 360 forum that was replaced shortly before the console was released). According to it Game is Gameplay's parent company. However they are run as separate entities.

Lordy! Thanks for the info. I really don't get that, Gameplay are a damn fine firm that getgames in the post to you at least a day early consistently, and are a good tenner cheaper than GAME.

Then I look at my experiences of GAME lately..

Ghost Recon 3 ('GRAW') - sold out in Stockport and Manchester branches by 2pm on day of release, even the school kids couldn't have taken that stock!

X Box 360 batter charger pack - sold out (along with batteries) on day of release, didn't get stock in until last month.

D.O.A. 4 - "pre-orders only now, sorry". What, no copies in your shop at all?!

They've done it to me in the past on other games too, I lost patience with GAME weeks ago now and use them simply as a means of getting really old and cheap games these days. How Gameplay can be born from them..well it doesn't even bare thinking of!

I'm planning on nipping out and getting a few games that are release next Friday. I'm dreading it to be honest 'cos I'm 50/50 'bout whether GAME will have 'em in stock.

I just bought an Xbox 360 over the weekend, and although I only have NBA 2K6, in High Def mode it's stunning compared to the current generation of consoles.

Y'argh! Is high-def really that good? I've not seen much of it so have never been that sure about forking out dosh for a HDTV.

What does NBA 2K play like by the way? I've played Live on the 360 and thought it was ok but the camera angles ruined the experience somewhat. I've heard 2K is alot better though.

I've played NBA 2K6 on the PS2 (I have NBA Live 06 on the 360) and NBA 2K6 is miles better. I can't wait for it to be released over here in the UK.

I'm currently running the Xbox 360 on my TFT and most games look great (they do on a standard TV too to be fair). I'm trying to hold off on a HDTV (because of the Revolution and PS3) but now BBC have announced the World Cup is being broadcast in HD I'm really tempted. Must resist.

I have to play my 360 on a standard monitor. Today I was playing it on a HD monitor in a shop. The difference is fantastic. So expensive though and seeing its going to be £300 a box with Sky and £10 p/m I think I'll wait a bit

The graphics are immense,the Games arent bad too.
