No stealing? Like what... taking someone else's artwork and editing it for yourself? I'm all for taking your favorite movie/book/art/whatever and making decorations for you to enjoy... but don't be hypocritical about it.

I'm all for taking pictures to put in sigs - just not for taking sigs. None of them have my name on. But nevermind; forget i said it - didn't mean to hit a nerve

Didn't mean to sound so harsh. Just been dealing with this issue a lot lately.

Those images look well composited. Welcome to PSG.

You weren't all that harsh Mindbender..I fail to see much creativity or imagination involved in downloading existing images, photoshopping them some, adding a text effect with some layer style and presenting the thing to the world for approval. So that said ( harshly ), Groundrunner, why not make something from scratch, offer it up for critique? Learn and grow from the critique and start on your way to 'original' design. We'd all really enjoy passing out 'kudos' for that, than for manipulations of other peoples work.

jeez seems this place just slags you off - and i can take actualy criticism. Some would have been nice here. I haven't PS'd for over a year; just try a few basic things and show them - it's just a starting block; i'm here to learn. If your not going to be helpful please don't say anything. The creativity of a sig is in putting it together - not just splashing a brush around to make a painting; it's just a different kind of art.

The majority of all photographs used in signatures are stolen. Just the fact that you can grab any image on the internet, doesn't mean you own it.
So in that context it sounds a little foolish to tell people not to steal your signatures don't you think?

If you want everyone on this board to agree with you, then you?re at the wrong place, but then again? there are no boards where everybody agrees with everybody.

People are free on this board to express any opinion they have, as long as they do it in a respectful way. I believe it?s great to have these healthy and open discussions; it can often help you to look at things in a totally different perspective. Art is all about being open to changes, about developing yourself and yes, sometimes that means a little struggle or stepping on a few toes here and there, it?s just unavoidable.

If you want to make signatures for the rest of your life, go ahead, nobody is going to stop you, but don?t get frustrated if people are just trying to inspire you to try something new.

And as for your signatures; they all lack depth, that's the main area I would advice you to improve. You should also try to improve your color and lighthing skills, it will really make your images pop, because now your signatures look flat, especially in combination with the lack of depth.
Also try to make your signatures look more crisp, very important if you're working on such a small scale (and I don't mean that you should just sharpen the whole thing).

Just telling people not to steal sigs as a joke turned awful series - i think i best leave these forums - not a fan; some attitude problems here.

There are no members with an attitude problem at PSG. You use stolen images to create signatures and then you joke about others stealing yours. Sorry if some people don't see that as a joke...

Good luck somewhere else Groundrunner, you're always welcome to come back.
