By 2009, there are hardly any original players left! Also why do we have to pay 2-3 times the value of a player to sign them when the AI won't offer more than a few million over? It's been happening in all Football Managers, about time they fixed it i reckon...what do you think??
i think...you need to rethink. there arent that many transfers the AI make in my game. the only two all season in the big 4 were pandev by chelsea and maxi rodriguez by the arse. and anyway, when a player isnt transfer listed you have to pay over what he is worth to get him anyway
My preseason first season was quiet, but the January window has been insane in the opening 4 days with Milan and Realgoing head to head for some big names.
he is right about the how much we have to pay when compared with the AI. it seems the AI wouldnt be willing to pay 40mil for a said player but would expect you to pay 45mil for that same player. wat bullshit is that. and i think teams enquire too much and then arent willing to follow up even when you give them a reasonable price for instance arsenal enquired about vicente (he worth 16mil) so i told them 21mil and they said no (wtf) its not like they were broke because i added new manager to check their funds and they had a comfortable 25mil to splash out.
i think it would better if teams just made bids sometimes and not always enquire it just ****es me off if they have a lot of money and make a good bid i would be more likely to sell my players rather then telling them a price and they just dont want to pay it because of wat ever reasons which i dont know
Im in 2012, and a lot of the prem teams have about half of their original payers except the older players obviously.
Also, i dont think the offers are that bad, for example:
I offered 25 million for 16 million valued Vicente and they said no. Fair enough. Then Inter offered double my offer and it was accepted, so the AI do indeed spend lots of money on players.
Also, on a friends game Messi went to Arsenal for 60+ million, and he is ManU manager
It's no good asking the AI for 21m for a 17m rated player unless you have set his price tag at 21m and are also sure that he's even that good.
For a laugh towards end of life for FM07 I used scouting tools, the AI has a player value and an asking price, they are often very different. When the AI looks at us it sees only player value unless you set asking price.
Example: Xabi Alonso lacks heading, jumping, and phyical ability compared to certain other DM candidates so I set his asking price to £30m, and even when bid comes in for £30m I denote a 25% sell on fee - the bids will come, but I won't get £30m bid if he has asking price set to player value of 14.75m.
trust me vicente is that good and i shudnt have to set his actual asking price to 21mil and even when i tell them i want that much it is set automatically anyways. the AI shud be able to recognise a good deal come on i mean zlatanfollower just stated that inter paid 50mil for vicente and hes worth 16 i was offering arsenal him for 21mil so wat does that say - the AI is just random and stupid

So if his asking price is left at his value, and you then only announce an acceptable price when the bid is made, they AI either commits of determined or says sod off.
It's the same for you, the AI asks for more than the players value (a hidden sale value for obvious reasons) and you either commit or tell them to sod off.
For example...I had to pay 45 million Australian dollars for Igor Akinfeev, he was worth 14 million. If it is because of potential his value should be more to start with.
I see what is being said here! In real life transfers now there is a need to pay way over the odds. just the way it has gone. Buti find it frustrating when a computer managed team can sign a player far cheaper than i would be able to!
