i'm probably slow, but i didn't get it.

did akinfeev take a shot from there? how did the ball go past the opp gk? trickled, bounced over or sailed over his head?

ok a played passed back to akinfeev he then kicked the ball really far but too far and over everyones heads then the ball bounced over the liverpool keeper who was rushing out

My most bizarre was a player picking up the ball just outside the opponent's box, couldn't find a way through so he lobs it all the way back to my keeper, who sprints out of the box because it drops short. The keeper thwacks it out, but straight into the path of an opposing striker who calmly taps it in from just outside the box.

I was speechless.

Someone posted on a similar thread the Romanian chap who passed back to his keeper and lobbed him from outside the other team's box quite recently, so it does happen IRL.

As a manager I'd have no idea what to say at half time. I'd probably give the player who lobbed it back some children's books, low on words and high on pictures, to illustrate how back to school he was going the following training session.
