And they got deducted 9 points, still won the league by miles, had about 90 points with the 9 deducted!! unrealistic as well???!!!!
Man Utd have a massive £600m loan debt (in real life and in the game). In the game this costs about £4m a month in interest. So as Man Utd manager you have to be a little careful with the finances. So if the wrong manager was in charge it's possible that they could indeed go bankrupt.
As for the massive league lead, they may have just had a very good season. Perhaps resembling Arsenals unbeaten season of a few years ago. So while rare, it could happen.
Well I suppose if they're still in a position to win the league so comfortably I'd guess they were still qualifying for Europe as well. Personally I think SI have listened to all the negative media speculation and assumed Man Utd are going to go bankrupt.
First of all, Man Utd would obviously be able to generate finances to stave off administration such as sponsoring the stadium or even selling it off in dire straights.
Also, the club would also set wage and transfer budgets which make this debt serviceable - at the moment it the Glazers have suggested about £20m tops per season, but not necessarily being rigid about it, so they could spend £40m one season but then not spend much the following season etc.
I doubt many people have any real idea how Man Utd currently services its debts, what the payments are etc and as things stand there is no evidence to suggest Man Utd are looking at financial troubles. Whereas in FM, it seems that in most games one of the teams with a large loan debt goes into administration. I think it has been over exaggerated, these people who have been buying out the big clubs are all successful business men. Do you seriously think they've ALL made the same mistake and made purchases that will bankrupt themselves as well as the club? I'd trust their judgement a lot more than I trust media speculation which is where SI seems to get a lot of its financial data from.
