im talking about 07 by the way. finally, out of curiosity i got genie scout as i had never used it before. anyway i searched the players with the highest PA and then went about signing them.
Problem is my world class assistant with JA14 and JP19 say they are not worth signing or sign as a last resort. Same with my continental scout JP19 and JA 19.
these players have PA of 187 and 193 so whats going on?????

No guarantee they will reach this potential. Most don't.

What's their CA? They may have a very high PA but their CA may be so low that the likelyhood of them ever reaching that PA is very low.

The other reason could be that you already have a team full of worldclass players. Remember, the scout will be comparing these players to the best players for their position who are already at the club. Look more in-depth at the scout reports, particularly where it says 'could become a good premier league striker' or something similar as that will give you a better indication of what the scout thinks of them when not compared to other players in your team.

Or your scouts may have just got it wrong. I always found my scouts to be far too accurate in FM07 though. Luckily in '08 this has been improved so when first scouting a player the scouts aren't always exact on whose going to become a top class player.

i only have one or two very good players. im accrington in the premier so im a relegation fighter at the moment. whatever about their CA shouldnt a world class assistant with JP of 19 be able to say that he has the potential to become great. the players im talking about are only 16 and 19yr old

It depends on their CA. If they've got a PA of 190 at 17 years old but only have a CA of 40 then they'll need to gain, on average 22 CA points every year to get near their potential by the time they're 24.

This is pretty unlikely. You'll find some players have spurts where they'll gain 15-20 CA points in a year where they've had some good first team experience, but on average no player gains 22 points every year.

So if their CA's very low then the likelyhood that they'll ever be any good is small.

just checked it up and my 17 year old only has 85 difference in his PA and CA. so over 7 years thats only 12 per year until he is 24. isnt that doable?
