Is there a way to get crowds and or turnstiles on the 2d pitch to make it look more interesting.

People have tried doing crowds in the past but they have always looked utter rubbish (imo) and only worked in default resolution.

Turnstyles? The things that rotate like revolving doors to let people into the ground? I think you must be confusing the name. They wouldn't be seen anywhere near the pitch. Do you mean advertising boards? Again, people have tried doing them and they looked really really poor.

Frankie's examples are pretty much what I'm talking about. People have tried but (like those) they aren't up to much.

Yeah mate i have to agree with you. They make the game look aweful i think. I would leave it untill SI come up with something.

to be honest, id rather SI just make improvements on the game engine until perfected (if its possible). gameplay first then graphics. and anyways, there are some absolute cracking designers in the footie manager world, and as long as they keep coming up and sharing their innovative designs its a happy FM world for all of us!
