I've edited the default database and saved it as FM2007, but every time i load up the game it uses the default database instead of the edited one.

Anyone have any idea why?!

When you start a new game it should ask you which database you want to use.

Edited databases are normaly stored in

CMy Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\db.

open up the editor, see if your new db appears in the list of db's that you can edit. if it does it should be in the list when you start a new game.

WH, I don't get what you mean. I've encountered the same problem as Lithium05. However, when I start a new game, I can't find the option to select my edited database. Can you elaborate on this?

Sorry if i was unclear. After loading fm07. Click start new game. A choose database box will appear. The first line says " please choose a database to use to start a new game."
Under that it says database, then your version.
If you click where it says the version a drop down menu should appear. You can then choose a database from the list.

If this is not the case.
Look what you have installed.
look in:
cprogram files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\data\db
There should be a file for each update you have installed. i have 3 files called 700, 701 and 702. If those files are not there, you dont have those databases installed. Look inside each file at the xml file. If the folder is called 702 make sure the xml file is called 702.xml (i have read about these causing problems for some people)

If you are looking for a database you have edited yourself they should be placed here:
CMy Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\db.
If they are in the correct place they should appear in the choose database box when you start a new game.

If you have edited a database then loaded up your saved game, you wont see any changes. You have to start a new game.

I hope this is clearer and helps sort out your problems.

Now it make sense as to why I can't make my edited database work. It's because this option is not available to me after I click on New Game. Is it a bug or is there anything I can do as a workaround?

Not sure if this is a bug. All i can say is check again in the locations i listed in other posts to see if your db is there. I assume you have not installed the 701 or 702 patches if you are not able to choose. Maybe worth updating to one of these versions and trying again. Sorry that i could not solve your problem.

I also have this kind of problem. The option to select database during new game selection does not come out. Once I click the new game, it instantly load the default database.

Is there someone solve this problem? What should I do?
