Default Resize Photos?

Hi,

I need some help!

I need to take around 100 different photos every day and resize them to 7 different sizes in 7 different folders.

Can I automate this process so I place the 100 originals in one folder, open photoshop, run a proceess that will cut all 7 sizes and place the new sizes in the correct folders, all in one action?

Can this be done?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome TheRiverman 8))

As for your post, first you talk only about resizing:

But then you continue by using the word cut:

With my solution I'm assuming that you only want to resize since it's also the title of your topic.

First you have to record an action. I would do it this way:

1. open a file that has to be resized from the folder that will contain all the images that have to be processed
2. resize it (Image/Image Size)
3. Use File/Save As to save the image in folder 1 (or any other folder)
4. Do a Step Backward (Alt+Ctrl+Z or Edit/Step Backward)

Repeat all 4 steps 7 times Repeat steps 2 to 4 seven times, but each time pick a new folder, like folder 1 to folder 7 or any other names you prefer.

Once done, close the file (reply with "NO" if it asks at this point if you want to save) and stop the recording of your action.
You have now created the proper action that is needed to run a batch.

To run a batch with your action, select in the menu: File/Automate/Batch

- Select for actions the action you just created
- Set source to folder
- Select Choose to select the folder that contains the images that have to be resized
- Select/deselect the 4 options as shown in the screenshot
- Click OK to run the batch

The screen should flash a few times depending on how many images you have and then it should stop after which all images are resized and placed in the appropriate folders.

Let me know if you don't understand something.

You're welcome. One small correction: "Repeat all 4 steps 7 times" is not correct, it should be "Repeat step 2 to 4 seven times".
