Well, I've read and re-read any of the threads I thought might possibly help me out and have tried the solutions contained within, so I am now here, at my wits end, trying to sort this out.

I am setting up two "fantasy" teams for a forum I post at to include 25 posters as the players in each squad. I have done this in previous years and had no problems, but now FM2008 has me stumped.

I have created both teams and given them suitable rep, stadium size, budget etc to play in LIGA BBVA.

I initially edited them into the game as already being part of LIGA BBVA replacing Sevilla B and Hercules but the game would crash, without fail, after attempting to progress past 1st August, 21:45. I then used an EDT file to swap the teams knowing that some of the "links" in the editor might not have been severed and this should swap them completely. Still, without fail, it crashes 1st August 21:45. I also thought it might have something to do with schedule conflicts due to the sides sharing a stadium, so created an individual stadium for both teams. Same problem, crash 1st August 21:45.

If I place the teams in the game and don't process the EDT, it runs without problem. The problem only arises if they are inserted into a league. I am not 100% certain, but the only thing I can think of causing the problem is the game attempting to generate Spanish Cup fixtures.

Application Error

A serious error was encountered and the application will close. An error file has been generated in C:/etc/etc/crash dumps

Sadly, it doesn't actually generate any error file, so I can't look it up to see what it's referring to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :thup:

I'm not 100% sure on this one,but let my try to help you out . So,when you switch Sevilla B and Hercules with your newly created teams,go to the profiles of those newly created teams(in the editor). Then,click on "competitions" and put that they have played in that league last year as well.Then check what place Sevilla B and Hercules took last year in that league,and select that your new teams held that place last year. Hope this will fix your problem

If by that you mean put my newly created teams in as having the replaced clubs "last league played in", I have tried that. Using the EDT's I thought I would get completely around that. I now think the problem might arise from the clubs B teams, or lack thereof. The teams I am replacing (did not end up attempting to replace Sevilla B) have B teams in even lower leagues.

Still can't work it out though

Is it something to do with Spain only?

I ask this because I have stuck them into England and the game runs seamlessly.

I have also tried Spain AND editing the B teams to be in the various/appropriate leagues, to no avail. Tis doing my head in

I can't completely confirm this, but any time I have tried doing a league swap situation in Spain, the game will crash on the date you specified. I believe there is no way around it.
