It's been really helpful, and I know what I'm looking out for.

One other query that arose from that:

Relating to DS's post: "But also your tactic depends how good a player will be in that position. that is why you can edit the player ratings because in your tactic your CB might be involved in a lot of passing so you would edit the CB rating to give passing a greater value. This is done from the menu bar

Does anyone know which menu bar this is? Any very specific instructions for a noob on how to edit a players ratings would be greatly appreciated Roll Eyes

Genie Scout can't edit anything; it's only a "let's have a look" program. If you want to edit, try downloading FMM or MiniScout

Please can you tell me what advantages MiniScout has over FMM? ie, what can MiniScout do that FMM can't? I have FMM, and just wondered if I needed MiniScout.

Does anywhere know where i can get either of these programmes for FM2007 (patched version)? It's because I'm still playing that game

jbrowes: MiniScout has a customizable search function, while FMM can edit a few more things.

Itshardbeingme: I don't know where you would get FMM for FM07, but MiniScout is a new program that's only available for FM08. Here's a link for GenieScout 07.

Miniscout shows a player's CA, PA and value in a small screen that fits nicely in the empty space below the stats, and therefore doesn't cover other information. It stays on top, so it's always visible (though it can be minimised if it's in the way). It can also (in the latest version) search for players, and make a shortlist from the findings.
I planned to keep running FM07 for a while longer, but I got so hooked on MiniScout I can't live without it anymore.

There's no MiniScout for FM07 (unfortunately... could we hope for that to change? ), and for FMM look up version 2.14, that's the latest FMM for FM07.

I think you misunderstood what I posted...or everyone here misunderstood what you posted.

In genie how you get the players rating in positions like 67.53% CB u can change the calculations the program does for the different attributes so like I said u can make passing ability more important if u think it is more important in your tactic. It isnt editing anything with the player.

On the menu bar in Genie scout goto Rating -> Edit player ratings
