Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Team V Player instructions

Do the team instructions over-ride the player instructions because it makes no difference if I change anything. Or when I want to change something, do I need to change every individual player? If so, if it's the 85th min and I'm 1-0 up, the game will be over by the time I've changed every player!

I can't get to grips with that as I change my tactics as the game goes on. But the team instructions don't match my changes, if I hit direct to target man's head I expect the team to be lobbing balls up in the box and they don't, they carry on playing the same way, sometimes putting 7 players into the box trying to score when I'm trying to see out the game 1-0 up. Madness.

If you assume that the sliders go from 1 ( farthest left ) to 20 (farthest right ) then the only time that team instructions will over-ride individual instructions is when the team slidesr is set to either 1 or 20.

How flawed is that....! So you don't have time to finish changing each player before you concede a goal!

That's such a pain in the ass. The team instructions should over-ride the individual players, other why have it!

I think you are totally missing the point. If you haven't applied the individual instructions then players will be obeying the team instructions. If team instuctions over-ride individual then the individual would have no purpose. The purpose of individual instructions are important as you might not want all your player f.ex. to be offensive and you would like to keep a few players playing defensively. Hope this makes sense...

But only an idiot would set their team instruction to attack. Yet when you're chasing a goal you need just that except you have to change each individual setting, stupid. There should be an over-ride button you hit so your team goes all out atack!

There is: the mentality slider has 22 notches opposed to the other sliders. If you move the slider all the way to the right then you players will go to "all out attack mode" regardless of individual instructions.

Now please, refrain from calling people names that are trying to help you because:
#1 you will get post-moded.
#2 it doesn't make you look good in the eyes of fellow FM gamers.
#3 chances that someone will help you again become minimal.

Have a nice day...
