Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default FM2008 Man City Tactic

Hi All,

I am playing as Man City in the '08 demo. Struggled terribly to begin with after drawing with Villa and Wigan, got hammered by Arsenal and Chelsea and found myself in the bottom 6. I then created the following tactic and have been unbeaten for 8 games straight and am now 5th, after a 6-1 win over Newcastle and a 2-1 victory of Man Utd.

Here's what I use:

For the individual instructions, I use default apart from the following:
Defenders (including DM):
Closing Down - Often
Tackling - Hard
Marking - Man
Tight Marking - Yes

AMR & AML:
Forward Runs - Often
Run With Ball - Often
Cross Ball - Often
Mentality - Attacking (almost full bar)
Creative Freedom - Much (almost full bar)

One of my results using the above:

As you can see i've made a few squad additions but if you have similar players it will hopefully work for you. Let me know if it does.

Interesting tactic.

Why isn't there a default tactic 4-2-3-1?

This is a popular shape & f I'm not mistaken the one Sven currently uses with Citeh.

I sold Micah to Inter for 14 mil.

One player does not a team make.

nice team, i use a similar style. But Bianchi for me was class, you should use him (unless you do as he is injured on yours).
For me he is top goalscorer by half way through season with 20 goals.

I thrashed utd 3-0 which was good
