You need to win games convincingly, you also need to manage teamtalks well. Getting a winning run is the key. When you start off any career as a new manager you should expect morale to take long to improve..and it gets progressively harder the more reputable the club is you manage.
I had problems with this lower down the leagues when I had far better players than the opposition and I regularly said "expect a win" hence with draws and defeats I was always at least "dissapointed". However I have found that even in defeat if you are positive with your half time and post match team talks you can boost morale and keep it at least to OK.
