This is the first tactic I've made myself which has really worked.

It's pretty simple really, take the team instructions of a basic 4-4-2.

Set player instructions to standard but change the DM forward runs to high, and point arrows from both of them forward to in-line with the wingers.

Make sure your DM have great stamina and pace.

I think it works so well because when you're defending it's essentially a six man back line, and a six man attacking force when going forward. Make sure you keep play narrow and passing short. The best types of wingers to use are players like Jenas who are generally central players but can play out wide.

PS: This has worked well with West Ham, Newcastle and Crewe and across three different football manager games.

Won the premiership with it after two years at Newcastle, came second at West Ham after four and made the premiership and stayed up with Crewe after four.

These are from 06 but I havn't had to change anything except reducing mentality abit on 08.

you mean the results are from fm 2006? not to be rude or anything but if you want us to try your tactic, you need to do like rashidi said, post some screens, results etc. you did that, but everybody in the boards wants to see fm 2008 tactics so just post the results you got playing 2008 not 2006. and i doubt the only thing you had to change was the mentality because the tactical engines are vastly different.

No the results I mentioned are in chronological order, so Newcastle in 06, West Ham in 07 and Crewe in 08.

oh right i see it now sorry , so can you post some results of your crewe game, and a question, who do you have playing as your dmcs, actual DMCs or AMCs(as it would make sense to a certain extent)
