Right, people may know me from before, I made a few tactics and got quite a lot of stick for not testing them for long enough. . . Anyways, I was having a bit of trouble with this years game and just thought I would clear my head and only change what I was sure of, i.e Mentality. I understand it so will do what I like with it!
I've created two tactics, Attack & Defend. Both 4-1-3-2 with Farrows on wingers. Simple.
I created them playing as Newcastle, because they're my team and well I wanted too! I bought one player, MatÃ*as Fernández.
I'm not entirely sure what to say about my tactics so I'll just say a little and stick to my results:
Tactics
I use a target man and playmaker for both tactics, some say that this limits the play to the selected two but I, personally, think that it makes use of your best players and as a result Fernández and Martins have been amazing!
A lot of people were unsure of CF last year so everyone is on the Teams 3, except MF/Emre (whoever playing that position) 14.
Passing is all 10 for "Defensive players" i.e. gk,back four, dm and 5 for all attacking players.
The tempo is 14 so the idea is to get the ball through the defence and into midfield and then the short quick passing, a la Arsenal, kicks in and we, hopefully, score buckets of goals.
Closing down is another thing that deludes me so I combined that with tackling; mr,ml,st,st all on max CD and easy tackling, so they all gonna chase the ball and stay on their feet. everybody else is on 10 to maintain their position. Also dr,dl,dm on hard tackling, want them to protect the box as they all "on the edge of the area" they should protect the balls getting in.
Thats all I'm going to say on the tactical part.
Matches
I played one game drew with Bolton, changed tactics to these and first half against Tottenham I went in 1-0 having used the Attack tactic and changed to Defend tactic for the second half. Thats all i did.
Then I played the game again, I'll admit I did reload it but I only did that because of the result first time around and I deserved at least a point. (P.S I won't reload the game any other time Promise!)
For this game I just started off with Defend and just left it really!
3rd Game agaist Fulham! What a nightmare I used Attack all game, drew 1-1 nightmare!! 2 sending offs! Faye and Emre! So I don't really want to be judged on that but I'll take it (and not restart the game ) I'm writing this game by game, I'll decided to post this after 10 Premier League games because that's normally where most teams end up and there will be a few Cup games during that time. So when I have played 11 Premier League games I'll post a screenshot of it!
4th Game, Carlisle, at home. Not going to say much as 99% of tactics would beat them. I went for Attack and instead of 4-1-3-2 (i use wingers so its 1 dm and 1 cm and 1 lm and 1 rm) i went 4-4-2 diamond with Fernández AMC with a farrow to the central striker position. Won 4-0 and didn't change anything
5th Game, Derby, Away, left everything the same, did exactly the same as Carlisle game, won 2-1. Again, nothing to write home about.
6th Gane, Blackburn, Home, left everything the same, except for a bit of squad rotation, played 5/6 players that hadn't played this season, won 2-1. I changed tactics at 79th (?) minute to Defend. Also for the last 10 minutes I watched the game on Full Match and I think Blackburn had the ball in my half less then a handful times! I was amazed! The ball was always with MatÃ*as Fernández! Every move linked with him! Blackburn didn't look like scoring at all!
7th Game, West Ham, Away, left everything the same apart from starting Stevie Taylor instead of the inexperienced David Edgar. After 20ish minutes things weren't right I could just see us losing but I changed to the Defend tactic and won 2-0! 7 games unbeaten with this tactic, 8 this season! I was hoping for top 7 but am lying 2nd! Nice, still early doors, though.
8th Game, West Ham, Home, League Cup, left everything the same except from Emre left mid instead of The Zog! The only two fit players that haven't got Superb morale are Emre and Pattison, and Pattison had a go at me for buying Fernández so he's frozen out, I tried to flog him but he rejected everyone! I won 2-1, went 2-0 up, they pulled one back towards the end, 76th minute, but shut them out with the Defend tactic and no farrows on the wingers! Smashing!
9th Game, Reading, Home, left everything the same except Owen on for Martins (90% of players morale went to Very Good so thought I would rest Martins as he was Superb! Game started badly! Conceded early in the 4th minute but Fernández and two from Owen made it 3-1 at HT, by the way I told them I was thrilled, apparently thats a bad thing because it demotivates them because its as if saying, 'Well done lads you've been great, don't worry about the second half you've already won'. . . I won 4-1, Owen decided to complete his hat-trick
Three games to go, Liverpool, Villa, Wigan and then I'll post this for all to see! At this stage I'm rather happy with how my team are doing and they seem to be gelling well!
10th Game, Liverpool, Away, hard decision but I've got to start off using Defend, I put Harper in goal instead of the slightly injured Shay Given, Milner instead of Troisi, N'Zogbia instead of Emre, Owen instead of Smith, and promoted Ameobi from the reserves, forgot about him! I saw something about him on the reserves match part (lost 6-0 to Sunderland!!) 0-0 HT pretty even game both teams had chances, Martins hit crossbar in 4th minute!, I decided to put on Geremi for Beye, for his experience and leadership skills and Martins had minor injury so Smith, who is doing well I should add, on for him. Went 1-0 down 53 minutes, changed things 10 minutes later, went Attack, Owen scored 80th minute, they went 4-2-4, I went Defend with no farrows and then they had a player sent off which killed there chance of a late winner! 1-1 FT, great point to take from Anfield.
11th Game, Villa, Home, I cleared the line up, not sure who to play although Owen is a definite starter (don't tell him, he won't try as hard!) he scored 4 in 2 for England on International duty. I looked at Harper and Givens form and they both played 6 (Harper 5 starts Given 6 starts) Given 6.67, Harper 7.67! Put Rozenhal in for Faye, Ameobi in for Martins, which I had to do really, I didn't want to but Ameobi is getting annoyed with me I started with Defend tactic and was okay until they scored in the 70th and 80th minute, I changed to Arrack between there goals but I was bamboozled to be honest! Shocking 2-1 loss, I'm not one to make excuses and I know I was outclassed but I'm seriously f%&£ed off with Ameobi, the amount of "sitters" he had, makes my blood boil! He's out now, stick with Owen, Martins, Smith, Viduka!
12th Game, Wigna, Away, had a wee shake up, basically went to my best team! Owen and Martins lead the line! Ameobi offered to clubs, 1 bid, demoted to the reserves! I went for the Attack tactic, I scored in 7th minute, they scored in 13th, I went 2-1 down in the 2nd half and scored a few minutes later and in the 75th minute, went to Defend, no farrows on wingers only for Heskey to score on 93:30 when there was 3 minutes stoppage time bless! 3-3, hmm do I sense a slump? Hope not!
That's me done then, I think I have set out my tactics fairly well, I'll upload them to Fmdownloads.net they'll be called Sam's Attack & Sam's Defend
After 11 Premier League Games I Was Sat 3rd, I'm Happy!
There's nothing saying you have to read it all, a lot of people post tactics saying:
Here's a tactic I made I won 5 games in a row so it's good, try it.
Them tactic creators get a lot of stick for that so I thought I would give details on my first 12 matches. Most of it is about the matches, the first couple of paragraphs are about the tactic.
