Yeah, marking tall players with your tall players does help. To avoid getting the ball played right back into your box by the opponents, having some fairly skillful and quick player up there to put pressure on your opponents' players is a good thing.
I think it's important to note for corners that when you leave say 4 players in the attack, and you manage to clear the ball you will get more good counterattacking chances. Personally, I am a stickler for a solid defence, so I don't do that very often.
