Could someone test and advise me on this 4-4-2? Thank you.
When it comes to tactics I am certainly no wizard. I made myself a reasonable 4-4-2 in 2007 but that is totally useless in 2008.
I wasnt far from throwing the disc out of the window but I tinkered about with my old 4-4-2 and came up with this :
WEST HAM HOME 08 V2 West Ham Nov 2007.ta
(Updated Version of the West Ham Home and Away 08)
4-4-2
Attacking Mentality
Normal Creative Freedom
Short Passing
Slow Tempo
Normal Width
Closing Down Whole Pitch
Pushed Up Defensive Line
Hard Tackling
Mixed Focus Passing
Zonal Marking
Target Man Supply to Head
Play Off Side
Obviously player instructions differ.
I have my Target Man on the left and play balls to his head. My wide men have farrows up the line and my left CM has a barrow to the DM position.
The team I play is :
GK Green
RB Neill
LB McCartney
LCB Upson
RCB Ferdinand
RM Ljungberg
LM Etherington/Boa Morte
DM Parker/Mullins
CM Dyer/Noble
RF Bellamy/Kiki Fonseca
LF Ashton/Hartson
It's very early but after my early bad results with another formation this tactic has given me the following results.
3-2 with 10 men for an hour.
1-1
3-1
3-1
2-1
0-0
Not fantastic and as I said very early on using it but it is certainly an improvement on the results I was getting.
I am still conceding silly goals though and conceding a loot of possession.
Would someone be kind enough to give it a go and advise me how it can be made better, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

One defeat in 9 with this tactic but despite Bellamy scoring for fun Ashton hasn't hit the back of the net for 8 games.
Pleanty of assists he has however so if anyone actually tried this tactic out can they give me some feedback on any tweaks you may have made to improve it?
