I'm playing Liverpool using flat 442 with short arrows on my wingers and backward diagonal arrow for one of my strikers. It's not that my tactic doesn't work, but it seems that my attacking minded midfielder shoots the ball more often than my strikers! I know Stevie G loves to shoot it from distance, therefore I set his long range shooting to mixed and often on through balls. Yet he's still shooting 5-8 per game! When he got injured, I thought putting Lucas Leiva would reduce the amount of long range shooting, but it didn't! The problem is that Stevie G would often get a 6 for not shooting well during a game. His average performance rating is a mere 7.17! Do any of you guys have the same problem?
If you give a player much creative freedom he will shoot from distance even if you put long shots to rarely. With much creative freadom he does what he wants ( if that player naturaly loves long distance shots that is a problem ) . Reduce creative freadom
CROAT is spot on. It will solve the long shot problem.
However, don't put too little CF for CM. If they do not have enough CF, their passes will not be good, and they will hold the ball too long in midfield. Then he will lose poccession of the ball, and the other team counter-attack you.
Nice! Thanks guys! My attacking-minded midfielder has a creative freedom of about 13-14 (Highest notch of Normal value). Is that too high for an MC?
Anyway, I'll try to lower it down to normal and give you guys an update. Again, thanks for the tips!
