I've searched these forums and I cant find any real answers to the questions im looking for.
First of all... creative freedom. What does it really do? Does it let players decide for their own or just let them roam around freely more...
Second... PAssing and Tempo combination. I noticed that Direct and Quick tempo creates a fair ammount of chances but give away a lot more. When I watch Ajax for instance I noticed they play (in real life) Quick and Short passing with a lot of width in their games. Would this ever work in FM?
Third. Holding up ball in combination with passing and speed. I like to have my 3 or 4 midfielders to hold up ball therefor the defense can attach to the midfield and the attackers can run to their places for the attack but even though many midfielders got a lot of Strength they quite often hang on to the ball far to long and loose it. So to do this succesfully... what would a midfielder need? As in ... strength, passing, anticipation and creativity for example.
Last but not least... When I try to close the huge gap between Defense en Midfield by pushing up the DLine i notice long balls all over the place right over the top of my defenders. What can I do to break this up. Allready tried to make one DC ultra defensive but didnt work. Also a Sweeper didnt work very well (cause only real big players can cope with such a task).
Any help would be much appriciated,
NeckuS.

1. CF is given to a player so he can break formation if he feels he needs to so he can find space and get open for a pass.
2. yes that's exactly how it works in FM. Quick Direct and Short Slow are good combos. play the latter when you're a bad team or the pitch is wet. Play the short/slow game when you want to dominate.
3. Hold up ball requires strength, passing, anticipation, decisions. They might be holding it too long because they can't find a good option to pass to. Check your time wasting as well.
4. You need to bring their mentalities closer together or use Farrows on the defense or barrows on the midfield.
