Im playing in the lower leagues so i dont except great players to come to my club or have good players when i took over the club but my question is.......
Is PACE important!!!!!!!!
As i have three defenders whos pace is 5 or below and 2 midfield with pace of 8 and below and one striker of pace 9.
I have read loads of threads about pace and stamina and natural fitness being important, is this a must in any team????

Imagine this, opponent plays a longball after your corner, all your defenders get caught out by a striker whose pace is, say, 12.
They can't catch up, he has more space.
<STRIKE>GOAL!!!</STRIKE> He shoots straight at the keeper!!!

But i got a problem with this too... what if my defender has a lot of pace but assistant says he's terrible... what then?
That just means his Current Ability is low. But sometimes players with lower C. Ability perform better than the ones of higher C. Ability, because their key attributes are better. Pace is one of these key attributes.
In a nutshell: Pace is really important in this game. Never quit on a fast player before you actually try him. In some case he may end up being rubbish, but often he may prove to be better than what your coaches thought.
Personally, very often I end up sticking to the fast, and letting the "good" but slow players go.
IMO some attributes appear to be 'broke'. Yes pace in a striker clearly works as we seen it so many times but what about Finishing and Composure? Even with good on both they still shoot straight at the keeper.
From a defensive point of view pace is broke, defenders are slow getting back regardless of their pace.
So the question should not be... Is pace important, but instead... Is pace effective? But the jury still out on the answer.
Pace seems not important to me in this game. Because no matter how fast your defenders are, they never catch up with the strikers even the low pace one. Something strange, right??
If pace is not that impoetant in defenders it must be my instructions then as im always seeing wingers go passed my fullbacks and strikers run past my centrebacks LOL.
Also i have my wingers to run to byline and cross and they wont, they get the ball and just pass it back to defenders and stand there ???????
