Default Lower league team building - advice needed

I'm playing as a team in league two that I managed to keep up after taking over midway through the season despite being adrift at the bottom thanks to some good loan signings. The financial situation is very tight, there was (and probably won't be) no money for transfers and the wage budget very restricting (less than £17k p/w). I'm getting towards the point where players start to become available on bosmans but at the moment it is possible to sign some players on free transfers.

I need some advice about what's the best thing to do as far as keeping some of the players I have that I'm not convinced by, or gambling on getting a few bosmans or frees from big clubs releasing players. I think the main factor is wages, that seems to be what separates a league 1 side from a league 2 side. I've had fairly mediocre players wanting in excess of £1k a week, whereas I could probably keep some of the borderline players I have on relatively cheaper wages. So do I stick or twist? Will there be players available for wages I can afford, and should I wait until my wage budget for next season is announced before I start trying to sign players?

P.S. I'm not looking for suggestions of players to sign.

Default

as far as i see it.. there is no gamble

you cant play in a better league with rubbish or mediocre players...

if they arent worth the wages they on... get rid...

or put it like this... like for like .. see if u can find better players for the same or less money.... the answer will be obvious
