Right, i am just promoted to the Premiership, playing as Birmingham third season. I got the job after they were relegated and won promotion to the EPL by finishing second in the Championship.

I play with BIGD tactics with the modification of the SC withdrawn to AMC with farrow (essentially a 4-6-0 formation as someone said).

GK: Kirkland (just arrived on a free from Wigan) or Costil
DR: Danny Buys (300k Feyenoord, just arrived) or Swerts (was there when I got the job)
DL: Quedrue (was there) or Leo Schwechlen (£2.5M this summer from Monaco)
DC: Ridgewell (was there)
DC: Santacroce (1.3M from Brescia(?) or some equiovalent team in Italy, played for me in Championship and did well, got good PA, but too slow?)
DMC: Muamba or Distel Zola (3M from Monaco)
MC: Luis Jimenez (Signed from two Serie A sides for appr 3M total, played very well in the first year in the Championship), have had bids for him)
MC: Boupa Diop (Signed when in Championship from also relegated Poompey for appr 3M) or Palacios (Was there, some Guatemalan (?) AMC with decent attributes.
MR: Cuevas (Was there, excellent on right wing)
ML: Kapo (Was there, even better than Cuevas, star of the side)
AMC: Gouffran (re-trained as AMC, but even with no such training he banged them in last year in the Championship, but EPL is a different matter, I guess.

Two players I have been able to get with hugfe potential are Aaron from Valencia and Saivet from Bordeaux. One of these players played reasonably well (Aaron) and the other was pretty quiet (Saivet, but only 18 yrs old!). I will of course match these players more and more as they get older.

I am not worried to much about the attack. I would like to develop the talents here. Last year we scored more than 100 goals and conceded less goals than everyone else in the division.

But will Ridgewell and Santacroce hold up? And will Quedrue at 32 be good enough? And has anyone any experience with Danny Buys?

I think your defence needs improving tbh. Your midfield seems very strong and you have good back up players to deputise for Gouffran when injured etc. I would play Schwechlen instead of Quedrue definetly. I don't think Ridgewell and Santacroce are PL standard so look to replace them in my opinion.
