Can someone help me with the instructions they give their DM's. I have Mascherano, Gilberto (well he's not playing more, he' 34), Diarra and Denilson. They never seem to get a rating of more than 7.

Can anyone tell me what settings they use with any of the aforementioned players? Or even Lucas who I'm planning on buying soon. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

granted i don't play wit ha DM but i do play with a MC with a arrow going back to the DM position.. gets him a few yellow cards though

With a DM player I usually have the player instructions set to this :-

Mentality - defensive
Creative freedom - little
Tackling - hard
Closing down - always
Forward runs - never
Run with ball - never
Through balls - often
Long shots - mixed/rarely

I use these instructions with Veloso and Muamba, who I have at Man Utd sitting in front of my back 4 and they regulary get 8's and Veloso sometimes gets a 9 coz I have him as a set piece taker and he scores from corners quite alot.

I have mine set up exactly the same except tackling is 'hard' (Mascherano is a brilliant tackler) and I have closing down at 'normal'. Will try to adjust it to 'whole pitch' and hopefully that'll make the difference.

Exactly the same except I have long shots on rarely all the time. Mascherano sucks at shooting so no point giving him any incentive to shoot. Thats why I'm looking to buy Lucas though. He can shoot the ball too.
