Ok, I'm having quite a problem on my hands here. I've read quite some old threads about the best sidebacks (I'm in season 5 right now)
They almost have similar stats, and my scouts gave them the same review...heck I even got them both for the same price tag (I tried doing that, so I can land one of them)
So which one should I get, I'm playing on a league one team (now in the premiership) and I already have a leftback (Marcelo). One thing that Lahm has over Alves is that he can play both sides, bttttttt....
Lahm all the way in my opinion dude. You pretty much hit the nail on the head when you said he can play both sides coz when Marcelo is injured or whatever, Lahm can be used in the DL position. Do you have good cover at right back though?
If you're looking for a RB, then Alves wins hands down. Lahm has the advantage, like you say, that he can play both sides. But Alves can play on the wings for you as well if needed so he's pretty versatile too. Alves is definitely the better RB though. And gets a fair few goals from FK's as well (or did pre-patch. After the final patch, cant get anyone to score from DFK's. Not Pirlo, not Fernandez, not VDV - nobody)!
