Decided to treat myself last night on my Leicester game. The Board gave me £20 million to spend to celebrate my first season championship victory and I've managed to exceed their expectations by getting my team to 6th in the PL.

One day before January transfer window closed (second season), VDV requested a move from HSV and I managed to persuade him to join Leicester.

A few games later and it looks like he's taking a while to settle.

I currently play a 4-1-4-1 system and was playing Chris James and Barazite in the middle to great affect. I know VDV is more of a AM than a CM but if I retrain him will he excel in the middle?

Don't want to tell the board I've just signed a £14 million lemon!

Usually if a player is older it is very hard to retrain him in a new position. You will find it alot easier with younger players. What season are you in? How old is VDV now?

second season, he's 26/27 I think

Yeah I doubt you'll be able to retrain him now due to his age. Try tweeking your formation so he can play in his natural position. Also make him your playmaker so everything in the midfield goes through him coz he's a genius!

For my R. Madrid team he never performed well as a central midfieder. Had him in FM2007 though and I used to play him as an AMC and he was very good.

i bought him to replace juninho at mc position he was utter crap, i changed my tactics so he could play at amc and my god he was god

I have him and desperately want to get rid of him. He's absolute rubbish for me. And I play him as AMC. Doesnt score from long range or FK's for me.

Just adjust your tactics so you can slap him into the AMC role. I swear my team would still win if I fielded VDV on his own, he's an utter monster.
