People in Munich are Munichian. There are big differences in language, culture, behaviour, attitude and morale between Bavarians and Munichians.

That said, there isn't even a type of "Bavarian". Bavaria is huge and separated in several regions with big differences. The people in northern Bavaria will get very mad at you if you call them Bavarian. They are Franks. People in western Bavaria will get also mad. They are Swabians. Etc.

Well. To make it more complicated: Bavarian isn't spoken everywhere in Bavaria. In Bavaria there are three dialect types: Bavarian, Franconian, Swabian. They all three have quite troubles understanding each other.

But: Bavarian is one of the main dialect types in Austria.

It's quite tough for some people to understand that Bavarian (people), Bavarian (language) and Bavarian (country) aren't the same.
