For the sake of clarity, unticking the box does not FORBID transfers, it just takes away all transfer budgets of all teams. Free transfers, loans etc are still on.

I don't see how that makes any change to an LLManager, seeing as it's highly unlikely he has a transfer budget at his disposal in the first place

It's a maximum-realism argument, so an element of LLM. Because the squad lists include players signed up until the end of the transfer window before the game's release, there's an argument for saying it's more realistic to assume clubs have spent their 07/08 transfer budget already getting those players.

There's a counter-argument that says clubs often try to buy players and fail, not getting their particular man before the end of the window, and should therefore still have a budget available. And that, therefore, that option is not especially realistic, even though the budget available in game to a club at the start of 07/08 may be larger than their number of transfers made IRL after the start of the window would suggest.

Exactly so Rourke LLM is about starting with the game settings as realistic as possible.
Having every team in your world with a transfer budget of zero is totally unrealistic.

Well I don't know what the feature does but if it doesn't allow you to buy/sell players in the first window, then Moon you are completely wrong. How can it be realistic when you start the game in July and not be allowed to buy/sell? It doesn't matter if you're team is up to date in real life. Sirdez said it best when he said you start the game in July, not July with hindsight. You are just trying to make the game more difficult and that's not what LLM is about.

I want to point out that LLM is not about making the game as difficult as possible, it's about playing as realistic as possible. So If I start with a club that has a transfer budget and they were in the lowest league then they are fair game in my book.
