Default Advanced Aerodynamics Question

What is the effect of gales or strong winds on the match mechanics? Does the wind affect the actual physics of a shot? Or does the game engine simply apply a larger random variable to shot error? That is, a shot that would ordinarily be 10 degrees off target is reset to 20 degrees off target. I've never noticed a direct effect of wind -- I've never seen a shot roll into an apparently strong head wind and stop.

I always find, when playing 5 a side, that strong wind makes my shots go further off target than usual.

I've never seen that in a match, either. Mind you, I think about real life when I think about a match. Perhaps the match engine reflects this minor detail.

You are probably best off asking in GQ, reggie.

Taking corners in strong winds is always a laugh. As are freekicks with me anyways, nice high floated ball always ends up in the back of the net when it's windy

I am not sure about wind effects, but I have noticed the effects of temperature, players get tired faster in cold weather, and if the pitch is ice the ball tends to do weird things (aside from turning orange).

"Strong wind" in FM isn't exactly hurricanes though. In that case we should complain players aren't getting blown over (calm down Neal ) or are clinging to goalposts.

It's pretty funny to be in weather like that btw. You're able to lean on the wind, standing in positions where you would normally fall to the ground.

To get back to FM, strong wind has probably more to do with passes going all over the place, and long balls not being the best idea. Usually I don't care about the weather. We'll do crap anyway.

It would be interesting if they put some Bermudian leagues into the game - We get a good couple of hurricanes each year.
