Craig0 Cheers Loving it already!

chrisrabb Come on you white men! Indeed always good to see fellow Wanderers I fail to see why we have to go for Gary Megson when the likes of Cappello and Pearce are currently sans clubs.....

Yeh it's a completely different mindset for LLM isn't it, although I think I'm getting used to it. In a way, I prefer it, the pressure's off, and you don't look like a loser if you don't win the league first season etc. And the feeling you get when you sign a previously "famous" player! The only time I've ever dabbled with LLM (and it was very brief) was when Rushden and Diamonds had loads of money back in the day, I remember I signed a certain red haired good throw-in/free kicking taking left footed Norwegian from Liverpool and the feeling was immense.

Sorry about that. I thought I was doing the right thing by not giving the name of the player I was referring to. So does that mean that the managers and clubs that I referred to are against the forum rules too? If so sorry about that, won't happen again. If you could just clarify that would be great so I won't do it in the future. Cheers.

I think (Being a newbie as well), that in general no names are on displayed - I remember reading something along these lines in the LLM Rules section. Unless it is name calling

But no worries, enjoy the chaos!

As I understand it, names are completely fine with respect to the real world. It's just naming players, tactics, staff etc with respect to the game that's banned. General chit chat about who in the real world Bolton will appoint as manager should be fine. Although today is literally my first foray into the LLM forums, so if a more experienced man than myself can give some general guidance here that would be appreciated.

As far as I'm aware all naming of players or managers are prohibited, with no exceptions. Club naming is fine as there is nothing to be gained from that. But even when not discussing LLM or FM player-naming of any kind is frowned upon - hard.

Not that I want to publicly mention the name of our manager-to-be.

(Apologies AGAIN for the naming in my previous post. Twice in two days now, I feel like flaming myself for it.)

I was led astray by a fellow Wanderer.....! Right well an apology from me too about the naming of managers and teams. Although strictly I didn't do any "player" naming....

Player Naming or Tipping - Including all FM, CM from 01/02 onwards, and Real Life Players. (Staff and Ex-Player names may be deleted at the Mods' discretion)

The reason behind this rule is locally known as The Floodgate Scenario. Lower League Managers rely almost exclusively on their Scouts to find players to grace their squad, they don't want to see names of players found by other Managers in posts on LLM.

New arrivals to LLM have in the past seen the names of regens or famous current players in posts and have decided that it's okay to post "Buy Player X, he's a great goalie" or "Player Z will net 140 goals a season" which will spoil the game for others.

Name one player and it opens the floodgates for dozens of others.

There are still many users playing older versions of the game, so if there was a player in CM 01-02 who has now retired for example, we would ask users to refrain from naming them.

Mod's have the right to remove Staff or ex-player names at their own discretion.

It's all in the sticky at the top.

Yep read it, understand it, not a problem. I don't see how discussing who in real life Bolton will appoint as their new manager could in any way impact, detrimentally or otherwise on a LLM-er's game? I don't mean that in a difficult or argumentative way

Thanks for the feedback

There's no need for blatant racism around here!

Welcome to LLM, you seem like you could be the type who'd fit in.
