Nobby, from what you quoted from the rules, I didn't break any...I haven't used the 08 editor at all...

I do however know that how the database works, and so helped the guy. What you're saying is the same as saying someone is a murderer for knowing how to use a gun.

Craig: LLM is about enjoying the game. I now enjoy the game playing it this way (LLM). However, I'm not a preacher, and never will be. If someone wants to use the editor, they can. It is NOTHING like giving OR taking player tips. I see those as both against the spirit of LLM...I couldnt visit player forums to give these tips in the first place anyway. So it is entirely different.

iajafer: How am I showing misunderstanding of LLM? Tell me what is wrong about this:
I play without third party updates, I play without using the editor. I play with no prior knowledge of any of the database, or players in it (apart from what I know IRL). The only players I sign are those my scouts find. The only scouts I have, are those that replied to my ad. I chose a team, in the South Conference in England. I do ALL of this, because in my eyes, it makes the game as real to life as possible. And therefore, a more realistic management sim, and in my eyes more fun (and more of a rush when u get any results). I'm positive all of tihs is exactly how LLM is meant to be played. And I play it this way, and for the reasons that LLM was invented.

BlueMoon: I agree with basically everything you say. AND as far as I see, I havent broken LLM rules, can you point out where I have? I agree with LLM rules, and follow them. I follow them because I agree with them, not because I've seen them written down and go out of my way to do so. As far as I can see, I still havent broken the rules tho?

Brian: I agree with all you said, except that you don't trust that I only helped the guy. I read the editors forum. I always have. When I've played 'muck around games', which I did in FM07, I have used the editor (only pregame mind you, the real time ones basically discredit the game engine in my eyes)...But anytime I play LLM I dont. And if I play LLM, I always do it early on in the releaes (and before a 'muck around' game)...Just to make sure I don't get any advantage.

Finally: Nobby, I apologise for suggesting you were in the editing forum or had to search for posts by me (You did misquote me slightly by taking only one sentence out of that paragraph, but I was still wrong). At the end of the day, what you have shown, has NOT showed I cheated, and has just shown how over the top protective you have been...Why not spend the time playing YOUR LLM game, rather than making sure I'm not posting something elsewhere...Whats next, checking my IP against ones at other online forums and seeing what I say there?? My point is that I know I didnt use the editor, and what I do on the internet is my business. Whilst I'm sure you guys will say I shouldnt post here if I think that is the case, I agree in part. But that would only be if there was a post showing that I cheated somehow...

Alex

I appreciate your experience as a programmer and therefore you wish to 'help' people in the editors forum, however IMO this is wrong, the editor is an awful element of the game. Condoning / helping people to ruin their game and database does not impress me at all and does not show that you play this game in a LLM way.

Also, I would assume that you would know many hidden aspects of the database from your experience of the editor. Even from editor use in past versions this may distort your gameplay and give you an advantage.

Well written. I really appreciate the people here who seem to consider their responses. And dont just write seemingly to fit in. (not talking about following rules here, I mean posts at the forum which ignore what I say, and just reply with reciting rules etc ot me)...

I would say though, that I dont see it as a way to ruin their game. Editing is a way to make the game more enjoyable for these people ....If it is something, along the lines of corrupting files you're worried about, the original DB is always there to go back to...

I dont see myself as a saint for helping them, but I do think that if someone WANTS to do something (you have to remember these people want to edit), and I know how to do what they want to do, isn't it nice to help them? I'm not as blindly loyal to LLM to say that "I shouldn't help them use an editor, because editors are scum etc". Because in my eyes, that makes me a preacher. Let those people play how they want. Everyone here is playing the way they want, ie. LLM. And you have a set of rules and guidelines to help you do this. For the people that don't have LLM, and want to play another way, should we stop them? No. So if they need help to do something they want to do, why not help them?

Mate, editors are off limits in here. No-one wants to hear about them or hear from someone who uses them, in whatever capacity. It's a bit of a trust thing.

Because some people want to use them (as shown by the popularity of them...Not everyone wants to LLM. It's like a Christian saying why bother having Buddist Temples...

Yeah. And I dont and wont use the FM08 editor....Atleast not until I've long finished my LLM game, and grown a bit tired of this version of FM...Usually the takes about 6-12 seasons. Then Ill probably start fiddling around with things.

I guess I understand that it is a bit of a trust thing, but shouldnt you guys be omre worried about enjoying the game, and making sure other people are? If someone says theyre following all the LLM rules, and you don't have anything htat shows otherwise, then why not believe them? Especially because there are no stories or bragging until atleast three seasons in
